I do realize that those sounds aren't just "burps" , but aware that this is a family forum, and would hate to corrupt someone. How about I say poots?????????

    just wondering...bovine's night vision??

If I'm checking on mine at night if I talk before I get to them they pretty much ignore me and don't even get up. Their flight distance goes down from about six feet to none. I kind of enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, when they are all laying in a big cluster ruminating and destroying the ozone...

oz. per acre vs. oz. per gallon confusion

When I got my applicators license, they didn't cover that method... I am not saying I have never ever used it, I just not saying...

    strangers among the cattle

What about the chance of one of the Brahmas stomping a kid in the ground ? I would think you are making yourself liable to be sued. I keep a liablity policy in case something like that happens, but wonder if you don't have much of a defense if you let kids know its ok to be there. Kids do...

oz. per acre vs. oz. per gallon confusion

I copied and pasted this from the dowagro website.; Their chart is easier to follow. It didn't exactly copy the way I wanted it to. It has the rates for Remedy, Grazon and Remedy mixed with Grazon and Surmount. But none of the suppiers around here know what Surmount is High-Volume Foliar...

    Remedy (brush control)

I will disagree with Dun here on the remedy amount anything less than 7oz of Remedy pr acre is about the same as pi$$ing it on the ground I run as high as 12oz per acre on broadcasting Angus C, how toxic is your urine anyway? :) I had a bunch of Wooly,Goat or Dove Croton, whatever it is...

It will also drive the post further into the ground. I have to carry my deluxe harbor freight t-post puller with me to retrieve some of my posts which went from 5 feet to 3 feet left out of the ground!!! Was a lot of fun when the ground was frozen, it is about 60 now so just mud.

Jeanne - Simme Valley That is an L not an i :) The only person I never griped at for calling me Danny was my Grandma and she refused to call me Dan, because she used to have a mule named Dan.. Who can argue with that logic, let alone your Grandma. Danl

    Fence Repair

Dun, I have already figured out my cows aint as smart as yours.. Mine are stupid enough to be right back underneath big hanging limbs, if that wasn't bad enough they are "delicately" nibbling on the ends of some of the branches. Sometimes I think they are suicidal. I have never been brave...

    Fence Repair

I may have to figure out how to post a picture, cause I don't think you all are getting the "picture". Not trying to be a smart aleck, but I'm not talking about a few limbs, I have 6 to 8 inch thick tree limbs and whole tree tops that have took all five strands of barbwire. (no insulators...

    Fence Repair

This is kind of an old topic, but when the ice storm took down a few miles of fence on my place I ordered several bags of Jakes tighteners, I was splicing the fence with my goldenrod dohickey and fixing the slack spots with the Jakes. Then I found a website that showed repairing the fence with a...

    Flies... the never ending battle

What I failed to mention is that all the flies are at my house. I have never had them so bad. I put one of those sticky strips in the garage and within a couple hours had over 75 flies stuck to it. I have sprayed in and around the garage with permithron and something else new, can't remember...

    Flies... the never ending battle

That's what I was thinking, localy Cargill Right Now Gold (I think) with CTC and Raban is $19.00 a 50 pound bag. I also started using that new stuff Ultra Sabre and I don't know if its a coincidence or not but after about ten days my cows don't have over 5 or 6 flies on them. I probably will go...

My momma said to never say "hate"

Me too. This is the most sick of winter I have ever been in my life. I think it is the most miserable winter I have seen. Didn't say the coldest or the snowiest, just the most miserable. We have had ice, snow, extreme wind, tornadoes, hail and mud mud mud. almost 80 one day and 20 the next. I...

    safe for cows?

From what I have read, it is fried chicken bones that can be deadly to a dog. They get brittle when fried, splinter and can puncture an intestine. Not a good way to go. I don't know what the chances are but, I wouldn't risk it. Dan
