    vaccinations?

Hello, :D I raised a bottle calf heifer, she is jersey/angus, and I plan on using her as a nurse cow someday I hope. She is about 16 weeks old, she is good and healthy. My question is what vaccinations should I give her? she is one of the first cattle that I have owned or messed with, so this...

    scouring

I put my pointer arrow thingy on you smiley face above, and it says neutral, that doesn't tell me anything. And yes I read the other posts. Brother, you should add patience is a virtue in your spiritual quote slogan. Just a suggestion. :tiphat:  And yes my spelling and grammer is bad...

    meds

One of my bull calfs is just about done scouring I think, it looks a little thicker now. But now he has a fever, 103 or so, he is not having difficulty breathing, just a little depressed, head a little low and ears a little down. He gets up to get a drink of water and comes to the bottle slowly...

    scouring

What do you folks think of the milk replacer im using? I think they are over there scour now, but they look drawn up, or very thin. When I gave electros in a bottle, they seemed to scour even more. I put electos in a bucket, free choice to see if that would help them. Thank You Billy...

    constant chewing

No, I was not able to get a temp, my thermometer did not want to work. I will be buying a new one today. Although this morning he is a lot more active, alert and head butting the other calf. He might weigh 200lbs, I not a good judge of weight. What should a 10 week old holestien bull calf weigh?

    scouring

I will be switching. I raised two other calves on the same kind of milk replacer and they do have a pop belly. Is there anything I can do for them, to make there pop belly go away, and for them to look better?

    constant chewing

So this morning I walk out and check the calves and he is breathing faster and had a rocking motion with it, and a caugh also. I suspect pneumonia? So I gave him a shot of baytril, about 3cc. He weights about 150lbs.

    constant chewing

I probably should know this, but what is cud? :D As far as depression, I say this because it is not as alert and active as the other calve it was raised with (angus calve), although it has always been this way. It does run around with the other calve and rub heads, but just not as alert as the...

    nurse cow?

Thanks a bunch this is all great info. :) I still have a while before she can have a calve, for she is only 6-8 weeks old. She does seem to be very gentle. I guess I need to start halter breaking her? I'm sure the sooner I start the better. Thank you Billy
