    When it looked like we were going to come up short, we started feeding extender pellets. The MFA elevator has them and it has helped us out greatly. They are cheaper than corn.

    On the heifers, why don't you feed them around three pounds of grain and all the grass and hay they want. To much grain will get them to fat and will cause breeding, calving, and milking problems. The same with your cow. This way you will see them every day, will calm them down, and should...

    We use the Purina Wind and Rain. Per ingredients, they are very much the same. Cost of Vigortone is 20 and the Purina is around 15 - 16. The cattle are doing good on it.

    I would bring her in and put her in a chute. Wash the area with some water and iodine. Check to see if there is anything in the wound. Wrap the wound with some gauze. Give her some LA200 and keep her in a dry lot and keep and eye on her.

    A first for me.

    I had one like that, but he was'nt a bucket calf. We kept him in a lot that had shade and once in awhile he would have one of those fits. Just cooled him off with a water hose. When he was big enough, shipped him off.
