But you don't need that 4000 lbs of feed roasting in 100 degree days especially when the grass greens up after a good rain.

I thought I had read about that on here before. His boss said they should have sent one of the calves to OSU but it's probably too late now.

We have paid that much for the PVM 28% tubs but they last longer than the rest and the cows like them. That's cheaper than spending $540 to fill up the liquid feeder during the summer when lack of rain causes the grass to dry out and lose it's punch.

We have two cows with a sore back foot and one is due in a couple of weeks and the other 2-3 weeks after her. I don't know whether to give them a shot of LA300 now or wait until after they calve...I hate running them through the chute this close to calving.

When the cow is standing there drooling does she have her mouth open and seem to be wallowing her tongue around? We have a cow doing that but she's not spitting her cud out. I've seen her grazing,chewing her cud, drinking water but acts like her mouth is tender when trying to eat sweet feed out...
