Thanks for all the helpful advice. I have only been to Texas a handful of times, but anytime I get to travel I like to find local spots to eat and coming from Alabama where pork bbq is mainly served, I sure do enjoy an opportunity to get a good Texas brisket or beef rib.

I think it stems from the cattle on feed report that was released Friday. There is supposedly 4% more cattle on feed than this time last year and it was predicted that it would be less than last year.

Thanks for all the excellent ideas. I had no idea Austin was such a yuppie town. I guess that is why it says keep Austin wierd? I have been to El Paso a few times when my brother was stationed there so this will all be new culture to me. We may need to reevaluate and look into staying longer...
