Have an old freind Frank Sruton in Rochester N.H. him and son Arthur has pulled them for years and Frank told me they are the only breed bred for draft. Very tempermental but magnificent LARGE animals.

I'd go with Shorthorn they have milk,meat and are docile, you can't go wrong with a breed that's been around for so long and has proven their cross-vigor with so many other breeds.

I think it's funny when people ask me if this is angus beef, when they know I raise milking/beef shorthorn. Maybe that's why angus taste so good.LOL
