    Very, Very Old Angus Genetics

Just reviving an old thread. We are currently using an Alexegi of Craigie son on our pure Craigie line cows and a Lodge of Wye son on the Wye line. Had a fabulous Forceful of Wye heifer calved in 15 inches of snow in around 0 degrees (normal for some of you but all time record setting in KY) a...

    hereford breed purity

Thank god I found this thread. I now see the light. The best way to advance the breed (any breed) is to breed young, unproven heifers to young unproven bulls and discard anything that is not new. Can't see where anything can go wrong there. Just out of curiosity, as I begin to implement this...

Blogarde of Craigie, a son of George of Swiftbrook in his first calf crop after...

    Very, Very Old Angus Genetics

Photos of two older bulls as requested Knersie. Both linebred to Prince Paul of Barnoldby through his sons George of Swiftbrook and Genkins. I have a son of George of Swiftbrook breeding cows right now. A different type altogether than the angus you find today. Now, if someone can tell me...

What Black Angus bull is visually appealing?

How about something different that is still very good? He's not big framed but for very nice progeny, both bulls and heifers, I would look at Alap of Wye. Probably the best female producer they have had at Wye for more than 25 years. His sons also looked great at this year's sale.

    Very, Very Old Angus Genetics

You guys need to get out more often. I have a number of daughters of Jols Eric of Craigie (born in 1966) and Jotham Eric of Craigie (born in 1974) walking the place. The three current herd bulls were 1. sired by the aforementioned Jotham Eric of Craigie out of a Jols Eric daughter, or are...
