    Club Calves?

My plan for the heifers would be to keep them back for production. I may end up putting them for sale, but if no one will pay the price then ill just keep them. I would be using him on heifers so my main concern is to get a live healthy calf on the ground while still playing with genetics a...

    Club Calves?

I have been playing with the idea of breeding some of my commercial girls to I-80, a Maine Anjou bull. I think he may give these potential calves more of a showy look and I may be able to market them to club calf breeders/showmen instead of just to commercial farmers. These girls that are to be...

    Brahman bull for Heifers?

Thank you pollinator. I will look into that. I wouldn't sell cattle at a sale barn around here if you paid me. The closest one I would consider selling at is Ava, Mo and if i'm going to sell them there I might as well ship them south. The bulls will be sold private treaty and the heifers will...

    Brahman bull for Heifers?

Again, not interested in Angus. Thank you though. I am trying to use a bull that is proven and has been fairly low birth weight on heifers but there really isn't much out there on these bulls at all.

    Brahman bull for Heifers?

I am thinking about breeding some of my Hereford or Hereford influence heifers to a brahman for some F1 calves. Problem is, I don't see many options out there and I really don't know how to read the epds of a Brahman. I have heard a lot of people tell me not to breed to red brahmans but to find...

whats the difference hereford polled vs horned

IMO, there isn't much of a difference now that the registrations have merged and breeders have started using both. Both polled and horned animals can have similar genetics. For example, the bull sensation has sons that are polled and horned. Same genetics, different options.

    Best Hereford Bull

If you're going to go with About Time, you're looking at spending $300+ a straw. But there are a lot of good About Time sons out there that may be a good cross. Trust may put some eye pigment on them too. You're looking at $30ish a straw for him. I have some in the tank from him but haven't used...

    Best Hereford Bull

I have a couple Revolution granddaughters in production and they are some of my best mama's. If you can't find Revolution though, Legend is a good economic option that has been proven. Those are my picks. Anyone have any opinion on Mr. Maternal? He came to mind when I read this thread.

    Hey Hereford Folks....

I agree with the general consensus. BW is a little on the high side for me. The Hereford average for birth weight is 3.6. If you are AIing, can I make a suggestion? Feltons Legend 242. He is a low birthweight, good growth, good milk option for crossbred heifers. No, I don't have any association...
