    Peppy San Badger

I bred my Two Eyed Jack granddaughter to a son of Gray's Starlight and grandson to Freckles Playboy this year. I'm real excited to see the results. His name is Power Proof. The place also had a horse named San JO Lena that I am considering for next year. I just started breeding my mare so I...

    Favorite pic of my horse

Hadn't checked this board in a while. Great looking horse Alan. Looks like the halter blood has not affected his athleticism.

Sounds to me like she had worms and now they're gone and she doesn't need all the feed that the worms were getting.

Clear nasal dicharge and slight cough.

My horses have a clear nasal discharge and my colt is slightyy coughing. My grandad said it sounded like distemper but the vet said there was no such thing as distemper and that they had influenza or rimonu??????? and said he gives them a influenza shot and strangles up their nose. Grandad said...

Flaboy bring on the pics. What is the deal with the feet of my horse. :?: Alan thanks for you comments. The CFO of the company my mom manages the money for told half halter horses are worthless. My granpa thinks they make great horses. I think this colt will make a good rope horse because he...

The colt wa in a 3 acre empty hay trap this winter with ryegrass 2-3 ft. tall. Now he has freechoice fertilized bermuda hay and is only penned due to his mother returning from the breeding farm.

I figured y'all would want to see...Now with feed Question.

I have been told today that I am underfeeding my colt and am practically starving it. I have probably asked this before but what should I exactly feed him to get him growing and looking stout. Here are some feedingsuggestions I have been given from people who say THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO FEED a...

I figured y'all would want to see...Now with feed Question.

This is my colt who was injured Sunday. He looks a little gaunt because of losing weight from stress and only having hay instead of ryegrass due to being penned.

    Always Something

I am not that into horses. I am just fifteen and have had this mare since i was five years old. I just now really got into getting her bred. The colt that is injured and her new two week old colt I really messed up on. My grandfather talked me into breeding to a halter horse (son of Coolest)...

    Always Something

To everyone: the cut is on his left shoulder and was just deep enough to graze the muscle. Vet said this was good as the muscle was not really damaged but the skin had enough muscle attached to keep up the blood supply. I was told to was the cut with a water hose. To Alan: Yes I went with Power...

    Always Something

Thanks for y'alls concern. The vet said NOT to cover it? He said just to keep fly spray on it. Does this sound right?

    Always Something

Brought my mare home from the breeding farm on Saturday. Turned her out into the back pasture and let her older yearling colt out in the pen beside the house. Looked out the window to go to church and the colt is bleeding. Look closer and he ahs a 2 foot long, 3 inch wide gash. Goofy me leaned a...

Anyone heard of Power Proof (AQHA)?

The horse is currently for sale for $60,000 so I guess he's pretty good. He's owned by Bob Mayfield who I think is president of the NCHA and he lives within 10 miles of my house. The manager at the breeding farm liked seeing Two Eyed Jack (grandad) on my mares papers and said they should match well.

    What to feed weanling?

Thanks Alan and TR. I do have some hay, coastal and Fescue we got from Arkansas and I also have bahia and coastal from our place. I'll have to go get some alfalfa and I already feed his mother 14% grain-based sweet feed. It has I think it has 7% fat. I need to worm him and I should be on my way.
