    gluten

    Corn is high. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not but I would think so. The place I buy my feed just raised prices on all feed across the board.They said it went up and they have to pass it on. It could be associated with the gasahol ethanol craze that is now taking place.

    picky calves-need help on feed

    Shelled corn is not a good feed choice in my opinion.Its not uncommon for cattle not to eat it.Especially smaller cattle.I feed a 14 % feed from the coop and they always eat it.

    Pears

    Last year I fed 10 steers chopped up pears for about 3 months and I have never seen cattle do better.They were also running on pasture.Has anyone ever done that I just did it as an experiment and couldn't believe it?
