That half of the lot is usually part of the yard it joins in with a lot that is chest high in fescue and red clover. On the other 20 acres there's enough grass to last all 5 of the others until next spring. I'm not going to leave them for that long, but I could.

I've got a pretty good feed I usually feed. It's a 13% protein with a little molasses. Seems to do the trick.

I've got them penned up in a barn for tonight to make sure she claims him well. I will keep her in the half acre lot for a day or two. Why would you feed her grain for a while? and how longs a while?

Just another update the heifer has made a complete udder from Saturday to today. She is really....uhh "relaxed" :oops: :D , and was acting a little funny so I put her in a lot by herself. Maybe she will calve soon so I can turn her back with the rest. The other field has way too many hiding...
