I haven’t planted Pearl Millet before but plan to throw it in the mix next year. How do you like it and how is it different from haygrazer?

Wheat and austrian peas for hay

Austrian Winter Field peas don't need the inoculant. I never used it and get superb results. Local feed-seed farm store, owned/run by a family that probably farms more acreage in the area as anybody. They told my when I made my first purchase that it wasn't needed but have it as an extra...

Wheat and austrian peas for hay

The peas do well for me in zone 6b and have survived down to zero Fahrenheit. They’ll add protein to the hay and are good for the soil. Make sure you inoculate them.

    Brassicas

I planted some daikon radishes in a wheat field a few years back. I don’t think anything took a single bite of one before they froze out. I’m probably going to try them again this fall in a mix. They got big and I didn’t notice a downside.

    Nutsedge (nutgrass)

I haven’t had that problem. I only have a little in the low spots. I’m guessing it’s because it’s dryer out here. I’ve had good luck with generic SedgeHammer in lawns.

    Haygrazer comparison

I saw in another thread that you got it cut. Which did better? I have two kinds in one field and the Super Sugar is doing better than the expensive stuff so far.

    Nutsedge (nutgrass)

Why do you want to kill the nutsedge? My cattle like it.

    Manual Thistle control!

I did the same when I was a kid. I try to bribe my son to do it but he finds a way to not do anything he realizes is productive....til you take his phone🤠

    Grazing at Green-up

B, when possible. I’ve read enough and seen enough to believe the grass will never catch up.

Anyone have experience with soybeans and cowpeas? I’d like to know how they compare.

    Bushhogged hay

That’s cool. I’ve never seen one. Probably too dry here.

Hay rings with the skirts at the bottom ?

In my experience they save a noticeable amount of hay, especially if it is not great hay.

Looks like Dicamba is labeled for it.
