    Good luck with your cows. A lot depends on what it will cost you to run them for a year. It your costs aren't too high and the market holds you could calf them out and come fall if prices stay up sell the ones you don't like and retain the best heifers for yourself.

    My cousin had a small group of 3's and a big bunch of bred heifers and the 3's brought $2200 in January and the bred hfrs. averaged 1775 a week later. Same quality and feed program. Like Beef Man said you got the first calf down and got rebred which is usually the hardest for us.

    I sold three black steers last Wenesday. They weighed 518 lbs and brought $2.31/lb. I couldn't believe it.
