    I bought an LS......and I like it!

Old post but in its class the Kioti 7320 is a feature-packed/value buy. I was really considering one...ended up going with a larger New Holland but Kioti makes an awesome machine at a good price point and their larger tractors are even pretty dern nice.

    Another dodge followed me home

Beautiful truck! I own an '06 Dodge/Cummins dually, 6-speed manual transmission, and love it BUT these older Dodges are really appealing to me more and more the older I get. Have fun!!

    tell me about a 1997 f150 4.6 litre

Nice looking truck. Oh, Copperas Cove... haha. It's all good at Fort Hood (Cavazos now)...

    tell me about a 1997 f150 4.6 litre

Concur. Had a '91 F-150 with the 302 and a '91 with the diesel. The 302 pulled better even after adding an aftermarket turbo to the diesel, LOL. Will agree that the 300 inline six deserves a lot of credit...that thing is a torque beast and pulled quite well, in my experience. Aunt had one...

    Used Farm Equipment Values

I was always a Ford truck guy, too. I needed a diesel in the mid-2000s when they were dealing the new 6.0 and having to crack cabs off to work on them. They wouldn't negotiate a price. Been a Dodge guy ever since. My '06 Ram 3500 (six speed, Cummins) is still going strong and will likely...

    Diesel shortage

There's a book I'm reading right now, "The Last Pilgrims", that's set into the post-apocalyptic future, with people living like this. Honestly, a world with less "concrete" (i.e., that's "closer"), more people who know how to raise their own food, and closer families without technology/internet...

    Question for Mechanics

Replace it with old stuff that isn't worn out junk. The cost of new is just too damned high. My new philosophy is to buy used pickups for no more than $7500. You can find some really good ones out there. Current daily driver is a 2003 Silverado. Body is beat to hell/rusted, but truck came...

    Question for Mechanics

Yeah, that's a good old truck he has. I love those old Fords. Plan to keep my '06 Ram (5.9L) for the rest of my life...the new trucks are too damned expensive. I saw an ad for a new brand of electric heavy duty pickup (Atlis Motor Vehicles) last night. They're so expensive that the company...

    1ton vs 3/4ton truck shopping

Beautiful! Hope it serves you well for many years to come. I've had mine going on 16 years next month. It has never missed a beat.

    1ton vs 3/4ton truck shopping

Good to hear. I tried upgrading the tranmission on mine but it was so hard to shift the truck was unsafe to drive, so went back to the original manual transmission guts. Folks around here who've had these say you can't kill these trucks, so I guess I'll keep her. Truck is as stock as the day...

    1ton vs 3/4ton truck shopping

My primary issue with Ford (as a lifetime customer up till) was that they became arrogant and wouldn't negotiate price. I bought a Dodge in 2006, last of the 5.9L Cummins with a stickshift transmission, and haven't looked back. Best truck I've ever owned and continues to serve reliably today...

    John Deere

Truth, all you said above. I'll be in the red for a bit, but entered into "the business" knowing that I don't know everything and that I'd also have to build infrastructure, fertilize, etc., at a loss up front. I "retired into ag" and am fortunate to have been able to have done so. Ag is...

    John Deere

I have 35 acres that I worked hard to earn through a complete military career. Building from scratch with nothing except worn out perimeter and some cross fence (that needs to be replaced with more suitable fence for what I do) and good grass. My operation is entirely self funded. Nothing...

    John Deere

How about government has really overstepped when it comes to some things related to agriculture, and needs to back off. You have morons in Washington, D.C., who never farmed a day in their lives and think we're stupid, making policies we must live by that do not fit our needs. The costs...

Some farmers in my part of the country are going back to horse and mule-drawn implements. Mostly Amish. ;-) But, still...

    Dodge trailer lights (rig around)

Your post reminded me of my old '91 F-series pickups. I added a relay to the light system to keep current out of the headlight switch. These switches led to a goodly number of Ford pickups of this era burning to the ground. Strategic use of a proper relay led to brighter headlights and no...

    Dodge trailer lights (rig around)

Drive the truck to Portland, Austin, or Chicago and leave the doors unlocked. They'll take care of things from there.

    Dodge trailer lights (rig around)

Did that on an old Ford. Far better to do it yourself if you know what you're doing. Still running the original box on my 2006 Dodge. Best truck I've ever owned, which is why I haven't gotten rid of it LOL. I have people coming up to me wanting to buy it literally nearly every time I'm out...

Things are getting WAY out of hand

So I am new to farming and tractors but in my opinion if I were to buy a used tractor, the first thing I'd do is to replace all seals and lines and hoses and just figure that into the purchase price. Replace the wear stuff and all fluids up front.
