i purchased an f350 with a powerstroke. i have never used a programmer or chips. i like the idea of just plugging in a programmer. I am sure if its worth the cost. Comments and suggestions on best programmer for 02 powerstroke.

i did some internet reading and found cd-2 oil detergent as a potential alternative. i used it this evening and so far no more smoke. who knows the problem. its runs fine for an old mule and does the job for the price. i will keep you posted on the cd-2 and whether it fixes the problem.

I bought a mule pretty cheap that is gas. it smokes when it gets warm - white smoke. i know its most likely the rings. is there any band aid i could use to get by for a bit. i was thinking just heavier weight motor oil. runs fine just smokes. comments.

i have never had a chip or tuner in my truck. i dont care about going fast and my truck as plenty of torque. is it worth the fuel economy to purchase a turner? Seems like a lot of fuel for the cost. Comments.

is the belt hard to tighten once? i have to remove the alternative bracket to get to the termastat. i dont have a bunch of auto tools. thanks.

good news is it does not have a computer. its a 96 cummins and i dont i think is all mechanical.

i bought the truck for 3200. 210k miles, 1 ton, diesel etc. nice truck for the cash.

i have a 96 3500 w cummins. looks like the termastat is open because the temp never gets above 140-150. truck runs well and i am in fl so its never that cold. i keep reading the truck runs a bit better w an 180 degree termastat and not the 195 standard. from the looks of it i have to loosen...

when needed i pull my 20ft goosenet steel trailer with her 1500 dodge v8 truck. the stopping is fine if you plan for it. i would not expect alot with a 24ft fully loaded trailer. yes it can be done but quick stops would be tough and dangerous.

i have a 2000 sierra 2500 hd 4x4 6 liter. tows well but never towed with a diesel so i dont know the difference. is there a significant difference towing a 20 ft trailer? is it worth the cost increase for diesel if one tows here and there. thinking of a new truck. thanks.
