I thought I'd glue them then run some stitchs with a awl just as an extra measure, I'd also put in grommets to run heavy wire ties to the frame. Great thought and you're right I'll look around, thanks I wish I did, We go to Ohio yearly so my wife can shop, I like to drive around and look at...

    Disc mower cover??

Thanks, Dun I figure the tarp will wear fast but I only put up about 25 ac, 1st and 2nd cutting. Since I've kinda spend my wad, I'm looking for a way to economize at least for a year or 2. I've been replacing other parts on other eq. since everything i've gotten was used and who knows what else...

    WV Farm Machinery Auction

LOL, There's the Beef Expo in Jane Lew this weekend! It's only about 25 miles from me so I'm "sure" I'll make this one! Not sure why, Wifey is now asking me what else I "have" to have. Since Feb. I've bought a disc mower, a tedder & a baler. Luckly just cost me a bit more than my tax refund, it...

Adjusting bale tightness on a round baler

That's the book i'd like to have, it's the normal adjustments that I need to know, usually one way or another stuff gets figured out, but it sure is alot easier with the book! If the books too big I'd hate for you to spend too much time scanning/copying it. I'm heading to an old hesston dealer...

Adjusting bale tightness on a round baler

Yep, that's the way my luck's running too, according to most of the previous post. But, I did buy it knowing it would have to be worked on. That's the way I gotta do it. Now I'm just wondering that if the Govt. can spend itself out of the hole, maybe i should have a shovel....

Adjusting bale tightness on a round baler

Dang, I sure don't like what i've been reading, but it sounds just like my luck, :( Last year we used a JD 500 and fought all of those bales that got jammed. I had to keep a hookbill knife with me just to cut the hay off of the roller, and, like it sounds for the Hesston, if the hays not really...

Adjusting bale tightness on a round baler

Thanks for all of the information, I just got home from buying the baler! It's looks to be in pretty good condition, the gears arn't worn to sharp points and the chain had plenty of oil on it. The belts have been replaced with the type that have v bars on them Nd look to be in pretty good shape...

Adjusting bale tightness on a round baler

I was hopeing for something like an adjustment on the springs. I'm pretty sure it's an older baler but it would be a upgrade to the 24t sq.baler we have now or at least a lot easier. I'd like to roll my first cutting and sq. bale the second, that's how I did it last year and it worked pretty...

Adjusting bale tightness on a round baler

I'm getting ready to look at a Hestton 5500, at a fair price. I'd like to be able to stack them for tarping since i have no inside storage for them. My brother baled for me last year. The bales looked great in the field but when i tried to stack them they just slumped down. Any body ever tried...

    Tractor and the cold

Sorry I haven’t gotten back to this but it’s been really busy here, I have found time to read but… I just put 5w-30 in last month, hoping it would be thin enough for the temps here. Traded a Ford Jublie for the JD 5303, now trying to get adjusted to the diesel, with the wet weather I wish I...

    Tractor and the cold

Thanks for all the info, as to feeding I don't see how I can efficently feed less often, I'm now down to every 4-5 days. I do check the cows every day w/ the atv. I haven't had any problems starting the tractor yet but when the temp drops below 0 I want to make sure it will run when needed, of...

    dial up to high speed

We use Hughes net here, my neighbor has wireless broadband but you have to have line of sight and we're in the valley. I've been thinking about a cell phone wireless card. We can't get signal in the house but can make calls from the driveway. Anybody have any comments on using Yagi antennas to...
