    Selling machinery

I have seen the prices of some machines I knew, prices were way too high for the abused junk that is was, but then hard to tell some stuff maybe, especially if it was online or people did not look around it properly first.

Hooking a disc mower to tractor

used to run most machines on the three point, drop it off level and it will pick up easy. Swapped a lot of machines about some days. What I do not like now is that European tractors have a hook on the linkage for trailers, never need to get out when hauling bales, here need to get out and lift...

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon trucks longevity ?

Probably the same reason so few diesels, or good gas engines as good trucks. Rules change to prevent the best trucks being sold in North America as Ford and GM could not compete. How many F150's would there be if Toyota had been able to import their Land cruiser?

    Rotary hoe for aeration

may work, need to dig a hole with a spade to determine where the compaction layer is. Then need to get a couple of inches below it. A straight shank subsoiler leg with wings that lift do the best job. But only when the ground is dry and will crack. If used when the soil is wet the metal will...

    Toyota farm truck?

The Tundra is not a truck to work hard, a couple here do oil/gas type work the rest r used as cars. My every day driver and farm truck is an old Toyota pickup and they run a long time and work. No UTV here, my truck or ATV. Now if you any where else in world you could buy a Toyota Land...

    Wider tires on ih574

Taller tyres and wheels on the front will make a difference by reducing the rolling resistance, and easy to do on a 2wd. Wider tyres will help on the back too. Traveling in soft ground is about minimum weight and tall wide tyres so as to reduce pressure and load on the ground, and trying to...

Min HP for Tractor or PTO of Tractor for hay

what you can get away with and what is sensible, is different. Some really gd old tractors will run things that need a bigger new tractor, and if you go real steady you can get away with less. I would say 50hp is Ok,

    Flipping disc mower blades?

Is the blade over worn before you flip it?

    Thinking about new hay cutter??

Not many places they do exist, set up properly at the same width very little difference between a trailed and 3pt mower. The 3pt will take marginally less power to run, (no mower wheels to drag). The largest mowers on the market today are all 3pt mounted. As for the time to mount a 3pt as...

    Self Loading/Unloading Round Bale Trailers

The Koyker uses a push bar, where as the highline uses chains. The chains would damage net-wrap if run incorrectly, but would be fine with strings. I would think the Koyker would be good with either. There are several units built onto trucks I have seen working that are similar to the Koyker...

    Self Loading/Unloading Round Bale Trailers

Not used one like this, but the highline which is a similar principle. It was a good machine. Loads and unloads fast, compared to a loader. Flat deck and truck could out haul it given a distance over a few of miles.

    NH BR7060 slip clutch

.If you only smoked them a little then you should be go to go. Could do a check and may be need to tighten the clutch pack. If the discs have been heated to much then they will have changed colour.

Doesn't say much about RAM or GM

It is sad what Ford trucks have become, used to own a Ford P100, not sold in North America, but that truck just ran and worked, with good mph. Spent much of it's time over loaded, nearly always towing. Then Ford is it's stupidity replaced it with the Ranger, not half the truck. The best work...

    McCormick tractors

Engines are ok too good, the rest well as Stocker Steve says shops are busy. Parts were an issues on models that were built in the UK as they were switching production, not sure now. Had way too many problems in the past to consider one again.

    Tractor Tires, BKT vs. Firestone

Depends on the work, as the task changes then weight should be added or removed, and the air pressure adjusted. Personally I prefer wheel weights as they are easier to add and remove and I can fix a puncture, no need to can the tire service people out to deal with the fluid. At the same price...

    Tractor buying help

Looking at the pic, not that east to see but it has either been repainted, or has fairly low hours. Certainly does not look to have 1000's of hours on it from this pic.

    Tractor buying help

Not sure on the TC55DA but the 5030 is a good tractor. Very similar to the original Ford 5000, these are strong reliable tractors, that if looked after will do a lot of hard work for a lot of hours. I would say that while it will handle big bales carefully the front end will wear, if using a loader.

    New Holland TM Series Tractors

Hired and driven by 6 month contract drivers they had significant back end issues. These were when new (less then 500hrs). Same drives in a JD 6430 no issues. There are very few NH.s since this range in the area I grew up. Some single driver machines locally had back end issues as well. The...
