Heifer with Blood In Solid Stool

Anybody have any other ideas then? Now another cow has the same so doubting the poor aim option. Everybody is up alert and looks normal otherwise. I have them out on grass even though i don't want to in case the hay is the problem and i'm going to dose water with corid. There's so much water...

It's not how you start it's how you finish, and all that. I love this so much I'm not gonna let it get me down. I did alright, sold the heifers to someone for freezer beef since they were only 2, so didn't have to sell as culls at the sale, and the bull brought good money as well since he was...

Heifer with Blood In Solid Stool

Hey everybody. I have a 2 year old should be just-bred limflex heifer. She’s in good condition, maybe a little fat. Anyways, I was out with the cows and noticed blood dripping from her rectum. Looked on the ground and also saw blood on a recent normal cow pie (definitely hers.) A few minutes...

Sold the two with obvious issues and replaced with bred heifers. Also sold bull and got a new bull in. Looks like he’s settling the others. Looking up!

Rookie mistake. Vet said that modified live vaccines would cause a false positive. FALSE ALARM. I'd already drawn up a new business plan...

So I got test results back from CLEMSON extension. Trich negative on the bull. Bull and the one pregnant heifer both have IBR (despite both being vaccinated at weaning.) Other heifer we tested came up negative for IBR. Based on this I am assuming at least some other heifers probably have IBR...

Waiting on blood test, trich test, ear notch tests for everything the vet though could test for. (BVD, IBR, Brucella, and trich (bull only)) I took three heifers, knew one was bred but wanted to see how far along (biopryn doesn’t help with that). She is due in April so he got her very soon...

Update: biopryn lab came back with 6/6 open. I called my vet as soon as we got the results. I said I wanted to bring the bull in to test for trich and anything else he could think of before I take him to the sale (first sale of the year here is usually pretty good...) He wanted me to bring my...

Vet didn’t mention it. I need to call him on Monday and see if he even does trich tests.

Sure. I am located in Upstate South Carolina. I am actually doing second round of Lepto/Vibro vaccine (they didn't get this last year before I got them) + 7 way and tri 10 boosters tonight while I have them in the catch to pull blood for the preg checks. Would it be best to have the bull...

Wow... thanks everybody. That’s a lot of advice. Trying to keep costs as low as possible so I think selling the bull and renting a proven bull for this season will be my best bet. I’ve got a guy who’s gonna rent me a good bull from a reputable breeder for $250 for 60 days or so. My bull went a...

Hello... First post. First year with trying to get cows bred. I bought 6 lim/red angus cross heifers and one baldie heifer as long yearlings about a year ago (in march). I also bought a pb/reg virgin angus bull as a 16 month old in May from a small seedstock producer. There were also two other...
