    One of our herd bull has a little white on his underbelly. The herd he came from has some cows with a little white on the udder as well. Its uncommon in my experience but not un heard of.

    Hereford would be my choice. We have used that cross for a long time and the two breeds seem to compliment each other pretty well. If you live in a warmer wetter climate and want to produce a high quality (prime grade) carcass and don't mind sacrificing some yield use a jersey bull!

    BTW...purebred- belonging to a recognized breed with characters maintained through generations of UNMIXED descent. I think that is pretty realistic. I might also add that if mixed descent is discovered that animal should be culled. Not use another breed to "upgrade" or change hide color.

    No, we only register replacement heifers and bulls that would make a good herd sire. Steers don't get papers nor do heifers that won't make a good replacement.
