What are 3 in1`s in middle TN selling for now ?

Hard to find them. Most cow sales pull off the big calves and sale them separate. If you can find them, I'd say good middle age cows bred back with 350# calves on side should go for $1400 or so. You can check the USDA market report for Tennessee and see what bred cows are bringing then figure...

    What to Charge for Lease?

I don't see how some of you stay in business at the costs you're quoting on here. My limit on grass costs is $100 per pair plus bush hog yearly. I have one place where the rent consumes the full $100, but my landlord understand I won't be fertilizing or spraying. Most of my places I get for...

    Passing Gas

I was told Sometimes when they preg check at the sale it will cause this. Lasts a few days. I've only noticed it in thinner cows but not sure if that may have only been coincidence

    Country music isn't country anymore.

I have been a die hard AM 650 wsm listener for about 20 years since the other stations all went "new country". But now even wsm has let me down. I now listen mainly to pandora , Daryl Singletary radio most of the time. There is a pretty good country station in Decatur, AL. If you can pick it up.

    Managing LBW Calves ?

Problems with vigor? No. Growth? Yes. Seems to me the smaller calves are up and going quicker. We seem to have more trouble with the big calves getting up and sucking soon enough in bad weather, but the smaller ones never wean off as heavy as the larger born calves. There has to be balance...

Top to bottom or bottom to top??

Exactly like he said. Bottom wire keeps the posts straight. Make the top wire look right and work your way down.

Select Sire Hereford for making Baldies ?

Had a couple of those R294 calves by black 2nd calvers. I would agree he should work on black heifers as good as any hereford would.

    Backwards calf

Like several have said on here, we always go ahead and pull when seeing back feet. But it always seems to be so easy, makes me wonder if they actually needed pulled, and how many may come backwards that we never know about.

What to cross with a Beedmaster for Terminal Cross

I like Charolais but with beef master cows I would think you will get some odd colored calves. Never done it so I don't know. For black calves, There are plenty of terminal angus out there and they are usually cheap. Most people won't buy an angus bull with 4 or more birthweight.

    Running heavy Breds through chute

I'd be more concerned with 1 or 2 month breds than heavy breds.

New here, question about a wild calf

Sounds gentle to me. Right where I want them is to eat with me standing there. No need for me to touch them anyway until they're in the chute.

Maypop (passionflower) what will kill it in hay field?

Pasture guard HD worked for me. I was told it was the only thing to get Passion flower so I just went with it. Think I sprayed mine in July.

    My New SAV Bull

Very nice bull. Didn't look at his numbers but He looks like a herd builder to me. I wouldn't wait I'd go ahead and use him, but I try not to overload my yearling bulls, say 15 cows or so.

    Snow melt, flooding... ISO Kayak.

We all think we've been struggling with all the rain, low prices, trying to pay the bills, etc. but what Nebraska is going through right now is devastating. Australia recently as well. Our prayers are with you all

    Fix this worn out pasture?

You'd be surprised what regular bush hogging can do. Spray with remedy, pasture guard, or chapperal for the briers and broadleaf weeds, don't overgraze, and bush hog three times the first year and a lot of the sage will go away. It will come back stronger some years and other years you won't...
