I have a question about the registered side of the beef business. What do you do different with a registered herd than you would with just a commercial herd? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, just trying to understand things.

I've been reading these boards for a while now and have learned alot. But I have a question....where would someone who is relatively new to the cattle business find some yearling feeder steers to invest in??? Thanks for the help.
