    fracking up in smoke

File a small claims case for the value of the cows then call the news media, tell them your story and watch the power company squirm. You'll get your money.

even the NRA thinks this is "downright scary"

I would do the same thing. If I'm eating out and a group of armed men walk in how am I or anyone else to know what they are up to? If I did not know what was going on my first thought would be to get my family to safety. You know there are a lot better ways to protest than to intimidate...

    V-Rake questions- learning curve

I have a ten wheel Kuhn speed rake. It came with the wheels on backwards. When I rake I go back and forth in as straight a line as possible then do my headlands last. I do not get any clumps on the straight runs but do get some on the curves. Speed rake is a good name for it. The faster I go...

Do you think this can be buffed out???

I heard they might have a recall on that problem. Something about weak cab posts. I think all Chevys have the same problem.

    TN 65 new holland

I got to agree with skyhightree1. We have two tractors with loaders both 4 wd. They are stiff as h$ll on rough ground which makes you slow down. My 2 wd with no loader is an easy rider on the same field. That's because it is so much lighter on the front end. I take the weights off for...

    Kids and Inheritance

I read all the posts so far and want to make a few comments. First I'm a little surprised no one has said anything about what's best for the land. Oh I'm sorry I guess no one is supposed to care about the land they spent a lifetime on they should just care that their kids get some money to...

    Tedding Hay

I'm in the rainy Northeast and it would be a joke up here to try and make hay without tedding.

    TN 65 new holland

I use suitcase weights on my TN60A. Run a backhoe on the back and a 8 foot snow blower this way with no problems.

    Bellon disc mowers

I had a kuhn then switched to a New Holland disc mower when they came out with the mower max head (hit something and you might take out a head but that can be fixed in ten minutes) I also noticed the NH takes less HP to run. I would not buy an off brand if I were you, they seam to come & go...

    TN 65 new holland

I use a NH TN60A 2wd no loader as my main hay tractor. Disc mower, 4x4 round bailer, 18 ft. Tedder, kuhn speed rake and some of my ground is all side hill. It's been a very good tractor.

Just watched the Dust Bowl By Ken Burns

I didn't like the ending. Sounded too much like Allen Savory in this talk; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpTHi7O66pI A guy in the Dust Bowl story said the Ogallala aquifer averaged 100 feet deep but since the dust bowl we had used about 50 feet of that. He also said that at the rate of use...

    Predator

Talking about garbage dumps. When I was a young fella dating girls we used take them to the dump to watch the bears sometimes. There would be three or four bears at a time at the dump. Best thing was the girls did'nt dare to get out of the truck. ;-)

    Predator

A guy told me once to avoid being attacked by a grizzly it's a good idea to wear little bells and carry bear spray. He also told me how to tell the diference between black bear and grizzly poop. He said grizzy poop smells a little like bear spray and will have little bells in it. :cowboy:

    Predator

I've got some bear around but never had a problem. I just figured a mother cow, or several together, would send them packing. I have fields out of sight and surounded by woods and we have never lost a cow or calf. If I ever saw a bear in the pasture I'd drop him like a bad habit though.

What do you use to trim under fences?

I have been using a Husqvarna brush trimmer but I'm looking for something faster that's less work. Maybe that way more of it will get done. What do you use and how do you like it?
