This cow calved 11 days ago to a young cleanup bull. The bull was one my brother kept as a backup in case any of his other bulls turned up with an injury. Bull was a mix of 3 breeds and looked pretty good. Not very big, but high libido, aggressive breeder.

The cow is purebred simmental. The heifer calf is 5/8 simmental, 1/8 red angus and 1/4 of a lesser used breed. Anyone want to guess that 3rd breed? Calf has some frame with long legs and some thickness.

Update on this thread. The calf grew well and will soon be 8 months old. She has plenty of frame and depth and looks a little different than the previous younger picture. I delivered her to my brother yesterday. He is retaining about 25 heifers this year and she will join that group. I am going to help him get the heifers AI bred.

Heifers will be AI bred to this red simmental or to his younger half brother. Both out of the same dam.
