Heard the Angus were good bulls. There will be a consignment sale and a production sale this Saturday. Will be interesting what prices they bring. I expect our neighbors average to be over $10,000.00 again.

Generally accepted metric for my lifetime is that a good bull is worth the price of 5 calves. When calves weaned around 400# and brought 30 cents per pound, that indicates that a good bull was worth $600. At 550 pounds and $1.40/#, that indicates a good bull was worth $3850. At today's prices, a good bull is well into 5 figures based on the value of 5 calves.

I think that's a good way of looking at it. That's the kind of formula that can be used regardless of prices or how they fluctuate.

Went for another tour yesterday. 11 hours one way, camped overnight, looked at bulls this morning and am 4 hours from home again tonight. Eye appointment tomorrow and then home.
4 of the 5 bulls I bought.
