I think it’s too early to make that call, there is still frost in the ground. But I’d like to see an inch of warm rain here in a week or two.

Busy evening, 6 heifers calving, first calf born had 4 mothers, second had three, pulled the third and last three are penned separate from each other. Only thing dumber than one 2 year old heifers is 2 of them.

One advantage to a light skiff of snow is you leave tracks so you can tell where you have been and not been yet.
Back to the wolves, do you skin them out. It sure looks like they would have a nice pelt.
If hide not rubbed they are skinned with nails intact. More market for wall hangers than any other use. Every home should have a wolf and a bear hanging on the wall.

i really enjoyed the pictures and comments from this post.
i don't deal with the snow and seldom see a wolf in my clime.
i have to settle for a 12 gauge and a ruger .44 mag near the door.

That Oscar sure is dedicated to his job(s).
Last couple days. We are averaging at or above 20 a day at present. Not much time to take pictures.
Just a cow with a calf.
Picked a good spot.
About 2 minutes before we took this heifer up and pulled the calf.
Pretty good second calf purebred.
Longest horned cow on the place.
