Had 2 Heifers calve today. Just got a picture of the one. This was a bottle calf that I lost it’s mom when it was 2 months old. It exciting to see her calve herself.
LOL - glad to see someone else's cattle are covered in mud/manure. This winter has been brutal - mud mud mud.

Yes do have mud. Its not as bad as it was.

Had 3 calves today. All out of our herd bull. Still had 9 to calve and I guess these 3 decided they will use the extra day of the year to do it.
This is a first timer. Unfortunately Dad had to pull it but all is well so far.
Not a good pic. But This is out of one of my favorite cows. She is a big cow but always weans one of the biggest calves. She is 8 yrs old and calved April 23rd last year so almost moved up 2 months.
This is a 1/2 sim 1/2 angus cow. 3 yrs 9 month old and this is her 3rd calf. She has raised some good ones. Below is a pic of her last year heifer I will be selling at the Ohio Beef Expo in mid March.

Yes we actually had the bull in with the herd before she calved. Last year She calved a month later than the rest of the herd and I wanted to move her up.

Last calf for this spring born today. Heifer calf weighing 84lbs. It a good feeling to be done. 70 days since the first one was born. Longer calving season than I like but all but 2 were born in 40 days.
I know what you mean. Great feeling to have last one on ground.

Had a late calf today. First time heifer. Seen she was in labor this morning so I told dad to check her an hour later since I had to go to work. He called me and said nothing is happening so I got home about noon and put her in the chute and reached in and found a tail 
. So after trying to get the legs around for a few minutes I called the vet to find out she is on vacation. So I tried harder and after 15 min or so got the feet around and pulled the calf but unfortunately it was dead already. I was really disappointed but I am glad it wasn’t worse or had a vet bill to pay yet.
