redneck engineering quick fel quick connect

IMHO, you may consider investing in the second frame so that one is dedicated to the forks and one is dedicated to the hay spear (single or double spears). When I purchased my fel I got with bucket and fork. Had homemade QT frame and spear probably about $350 extra. My farming partners kind...

redneck engineering quick fel quick connect

I don't know, but as solid as that frame looks, I would have considered double spears place on the bottom of your frame. In most cases would double as hay spear without need of small stablilizers and a static fork without adjustments. Good luck.

    Battery Disconnect

After you find short, a quick disconnect is still not a bad idea. In the field with an electrical problem that shorts, really nice to kill everything with just a flick of a switch. Sometimes a tractor can receive big damage before battery cable can be removed.

found an FEL for my tractor

Good looking rig. May I suggest while building the fork and quick hitch for loader, build a grill guard also. Front bumper will protect until something is too high and then it hits your sheet metal! Some times bolt ons are from $150 to $200. IMO, some of the best money spent as it keeps you...

found an FEL for my tractor

I would have loved seeing some pictures of tractor and loader. Keep in mind also, that carrying hay that far forward, may put extra stress on your frontend. May not be an issue for a short time, but we tend to put that stuff off as we are getting bye, and then something breaks! Looks like you...

    Portable Step for Stock Trailer

Bumper pull or Gooseneck. If bp and hitch insert is low may can turn it over and raise the front slightly or even several inches. Higher front generally lowers back. Don't want it to drag however. Even GN may be adjusted to raise front and lower back. Maybe. Good luck.

Slick Way to Sort Cows and Calves

Not a bad idea to let them go through the pens once in a while and not be caught or worked. Helps take some of the sting out of the area.

Cattle Panels vs Oak board fencing

I found that having a few wire cattle panels (16') and a few loose corral panels in reserve was always a good thing about 10 pm some nights when something tore through a fence and you needed a quick temporay fence. A FEL with a fork and it doesn't really matter that much how heavy the suckers...

    New Money Pit-MF TO 35

I agree likely some kind of leak. No one has mentioned milky fluid which implies water in the fluid. Need to replace the two boots on the gear shift and hi/lo shift. As they get old and tractor is left outside, water will slip down these shifters and into your oil. If they look good and that...

    Quick attach is done

Good move, Hook. You won't be sorry. Now about the little spear or whatever for stability. Likely is needed, but someday will bent or whatever. Do like someone else mentioned and place two full size spears, low on frame. The two spears will stabilize, and then can act as fork for severaly...

    MF 35

I understand that Continental parts are hard to find, but the Perkins diesel parts are still available. At least that's what I was told years ago regarding a MF 165 factory lp with a continental engine. I admit there are probably more 35s with gas engines still running than 165s built.

best old tractor for light farm work

You didn't really give much help on size of farm. Just some pasture work and pine timber. How much? Pasture implies you may need a frontend loader for hay as well as work in the timber. 30 hp could be too small and 70 hp could be too big. I had a 1975 255 Massey Ferguson diesel row crop, 50...
