If you had to pick one breed that wasnt angus or hereford??

Moms a brangus. What is she. Angus and jersey bull was nearby

the brindle in the calf is a tell tale of the jersey influence I would say.

    Hereford who is black

There aren't very many 99%'ers out there, just a few as I am sure is true of all the other black beasts out there and I appreciate that you understand that the product of black herefords is the same as the black variety of any breed. There are some pretty large herds out there that have given...

    Hereford who is black

It's not just a matter of chasing percentage numbers, IMO it is a matter of breeding in the consistency many of you claim is a major flaw in the breed. It is also about achieving as much of a purebred Hereford animal as you can so you can maximize hybrid vigor to your customer. Every breed...

    Hereford who is black

Not to stir the pot Nesikep but just a few posts up you were discrediting chasing purebred status (a high percentage animal) and here it appears you are advising it. Honestly, I used to be on the Black Hereford discrediting bandwagon as well. Look it up under my previous handle. The fact is...

    Hereford who is black

There are a few 99% Black Herefords floating around out there too.

    Hereford who is black

I guess you could call him an F2. To reach Purebred status he would need to be over 87.5% Hereford. A lot of good bulls are being developed that haven't quite reached the 87.5% threshold yet. My current herd sire is 89% if I remember correctly. I have several registered traditional 100%...

    Hereford who is black

The black hereford breed is continuing to make strides in quality and in membership. You calf appears to be a pretty thick calf. Is he purebred? What % hereford is he?

    Silent Auction Ideas

I was thinking about a custom made branding iron as being something unique and different but I don't know if people who don't brand would be interested in it just for the novelty or not. Don't know if it would appeal to everyone.

    Website

On our blog we posted our birthweight data for this year with our Black Hereford Bull. If I recall our avg was 77 lbs or in that ball park. Actually I made my youngest son do his math lesson for the day by figuring the average, the median, and the mode of all the calves for the year.

I hold nothing against Gerts. We just feel there are a lot more future opportunities for us and ours at this time with the change and when your kid shows interest in something you feel the need to help support that rather than try to make a puzzle piece fit where it just doesn't. I had a...

    Website

Yeah I posted on the other just in case it wasn't allowed on this board. I know websites were shared on here back in the day but didn't know if things changed or not. Not displaying to advertise or sell per say. Just spreading word, trying to get reacquainted, and maybe get some feedback...

Thank you. I couldn't get it to acknowledge a website. I'm out of practice I guess.
