I have been impressed by all the True North’s we have had here. Also seen several from other breeders.
He adds length and great phenotype. So far the heifers we retained are very easy fleshing and growing well.
Not sure what you have near you. I have a pallet mill up the road that will load into the bed of your truck for $10 scoop.
1 scoop in their loader fills my 8ft bed heaping full.
I’d say the cheapest option would be a larger 3 point version for a tractor. Or just buy a used professional grade Vermeer and sell it after you’re done.
Might consider just renting a bobcat with a forestry mulcher attachment. A couple weeks with one of those will turn a lot of trees into wood...
Sky what are you feeding that’s reasonable priced?
Our local feed mill has a corn sbm mix they sell as hog feed but the price has became too high. I didn’t feed any out this year due to feed costs.
I fell into the Mahindra tractor thing several years back.
First let me say mine held up pretty good but had some wiring gremlins.
The real problem came when I went to trade it for another tractor. The local JD NH and Kubota dealers wouldn’t even make me a offer on it. Just said they had no...
Hard to go wrong with a kubota M7060 if buying new. We use ours for hay work mainly and unloading 1 ton bags of feed off the truck.
I have had good luck also with my JD 5105. Not as much hp as the kubota but will do whatever I need done. Plenty of weight and loader power.

Yeah it’s been dry here for the last month so I’ll be feeding hay after they are done with this.
Barns are all full of hay so this seemed like the best option.
I’m pretty sure semen was just starting to be available on him late last year. I’d say it will be a bit before calves start hitting the ground.
I really like Flat Iron. Just curious about how bad his docility numbers are.
I’m gonna send him down the road if I can find somebody that needs him.
I usually only keep a bull till he’s 16 or 18 months old. I try to breed most of my cows AI.
I usually have a yearling bull waiting around.
I meant to follow this thread up. The Hereford cleaned up the spring calvers and is now taking it easy.
He’s about 17 months old now. No grain just pasture.
My first soil sample called for 3 tons to the acres. I just had them spread 1 3/4-2 tons an acre 2 years ago so I know I need more lime.
My PH was 5.4 on my first sample.
