    CIDRs

Thank you all for your responses! I was thinking I might get a pretty good range of opinions, and I have, so I really appreciate this input. Thanks again for your time! Jay :)

    CIDRs

Thanks Dun! Okay, one more quick question. Let's say that using the CIDRs did work for you program. About how many head of cattle would make using CIDRs too time and cost INeffective?

    CIDRs

Ahh...I'm sorry, that is my mistake. It is $115 for a 10ct of CIDRs so...it would be ~$12/hd for the CIDRs. I suppose since this price is so cheap...at about $12/hd, and factoring in the time requirement, when do you think it would be cost INeffective to use CIDRs to synchronize estrus in your...

    CIDRs

Well hello everyone! Many of you may not recognize me, but I used to frequent the boards a while back. Ever since I've been in college, though, I haven't had much time to stop by and post and such...but every once in a while I do try to browse the boards to see what's going on and to pick up...

    Chi Heifer

In addition to what others have said, I'd like to see her be a little more square in her hip. I'd also like to see her a little more level in her top. I agree with what Ryan has said...I'd say she's pretty good but not great.

    Son's Show Heifer

I thought I'd left my tidbit on the heifer but apparently not. I like her a lot and agree with TheBullLady.. I'm lovin the flashy white coloring on her. It catches the eye and should definitely set her apart a little from the other black calves in the ring. Good luck with her and keep us...

    Simm Show Heifer (Pictures)

Ironic you should mention, I was paying a little extra attention to the pastures on my drive home Friday. It was around 80 something degrees at the time and all the pastures with black cattle (aside from those that were Brahman influenced which were mainly Brangus around that area) were...

Cut back feed. More exercise. Do you turn her out at night? Is she with other calves? Do you walk her during your daily routine? Jay

Than you shouldn't have said anything in the first place. This thread needs to end. Now. Jay

    Son's Show Heifer

I have a friend who uses this method with his younger calves.. he always flips them and then helps him back up. I've never tried it nor have I seen him do it but he says it's worked the best out of any method for him. Jay

    Most Hated Show Calf Chore?

There's really only one thing I don't like doing...and that's loading up after a show. It always seems like there's just SO much more to pack than what you came with. I agree with the others.. blowing, brushing, etc are all therapeutic to me. I may sound crazy but cleaning the...

    Halter breaking

This comes down to a simple matter of "if you ain't got nothin nice to say, don't say nothin at all." You've wasted a lot more energy being, frankly, rude than what you could've spent if you either kindly suggested he do a search (like you have done in the past, it seems) or even better, said...

Bah, I don't know what the rest of these people are blabbering about! I think this guy here shows the most potential of any calf posted on the boards this show season! ;-) Jay
