No horns here. Especially the jerseys, since they are the ones handled daily. But non on the beef herd has them either. Why have them when they could cause injury to you and the other cows. Keeping horned cattle is just lazy if you ask me. You got realy lucky you were not seriously injured...

This is all really good advise. Im 21 and in college as well. Def. stay in school. I, like you, wish I could just spend my days farming and make enough money to live the way I have been. But, It just wont happen. I plan on following my dreams career wise, and let everything else fall into place...

And how many breeds of cattle have you seen? Holstien and beefmaster? All these people on here who are warning you have A LOT of experience and I wouldnt question them. If you wanna pet, get a fish, they eat a lot less..... ha

NEVER heard of anything jersey not having enough milk. My jersey x angus do not look loke that one. My first calf heifers will raise 2 calves at a time. This is a bad representation of the cross. Ohhh, and by the look of her tits, Id say she was not first calf heifers...

Im with hillsdown here. You probably got breother and sister (twins). Meaning she in a freemartin.... Anyways, you should probably keep them out of the wind as well. And make sure you dont overfeed them! Good luck and keep us posted...

WOW, are you sure its a heifer? People usually hold on to those pretty closley! Make sure the calf is peeing and not scouring....
