    wheezing Calf

Always been healthy, checked her this morning and she doing fine. Laying with the other calfs chewing her cud. Just as perky as the others.

    wheezing Calf

Thanks Dun, may consider that next week. Just came back from checking cattle and she right out there eating with the rest of them. However you can hear her breath from a long ways off. Not hard to find in a group of calfs. Nice heifer too, perhaps one of my best....Dave

Blood on tail - 3 year old char/angus cross cow

I'am fairly confident that she is pregnant and therefore hopfully she is not in heat. The size of her would suggest that she is pregnant and will be one of my first to calf. However, till she calfs we'll never know for sure without having her preg checked.

Castration - At birth verus 4-5 month of age

Normally we band at one to two days old, however lately have been thinking of changing to banding at around 5 months of age. My rational for this change is that there would be better growth, and of course we could use the squeeze and not have to put up with the cow breathing down your neck...
