Any one in Alberta selling grain finished beef. I have two heifers to sell that have been on grain for 120 days waiting on the butcher. Not sure what to sell them for on the rail. Was thinking $4 a pound.

your not the first one to do it, it works well. most guys add a receiver hitch so you can hook to bumper pulls too. and if you make your fifth wheel plate receiver right you can drop a gooseneck hitch in there and you can pull any style of trailer
if your wondering what the mark up is. Cat will sell you a $500,000 piece of equipment and that piece of equipment will use 1.5 million in parts threw its life span. So you tell me the mark up.
a 5052 aluminum would shape nice for you with out surface cracking. Wouldn’t go thicker than 8 gauge.
Between the surfaces, as long as you have some form of Barrier, plastic or paint you should be good to go.same guage if you want to go steel would shape nice
Adding aluminum to a steel trailer is going to cause you nothing but problems. (Galvanic corrosion)
If you hit it with rust converter, it becomes a paintable surface. Throw some bead liner or rock guard on it.
Atimm693 has good advice. Also check the bolts they may just be loose.
