We run an 855 chain baler for years & never worried about the idlers; our dealer suggested having them lathed to a common diameter to take out the ridges but we never bothered. That was a tough machine & put through 20-30,000 bales & still has life left!
We're quite a ways from Calgary but July is summer time and the days usually are warm (25 -30 C average), usually just shirt sleeve & jeans weather. You might want to pack a light jacket (windbreaker) for rain or cooler evenings.
You'll have to google Calgary Stampede to find the cattle show...
Bull 19 was bred by Bert Anderson & used heavily at Bar Pipe......Commander son that was known as Andy. Was best known for maternal strength & fixing udders......one of the good ones from days gone by.
We've run NH round balers for years and are currently using a BR780A w/ wide pickup.....makes excellent bales but the pickup will plug easier than the standard version.( wide pu is great for baling behind big combines tho!) Have never had any kind of problem with the bale command on over 20,000...
Well it is Easter and we're kinda sick of winter so we can send you down our next blizzard........how many feet of snow do ya want and just how cold can ya handle it??? :santa:
Hey ......we expect a full report on the sale! I've been watching the Sandhill program for quite a while and hopefully can incorporate some of their genetics this year through AI.
Matt; I'm sure that you can appreciate that Canada is a huge country; Where does your uncle live and what month's will you be over for. There's lots to see but you'll need to be more specific! Calgary Stampede is an event you should attend but it arguably is more of a tourist attraction and has...
Matman; Check the rubbers in the idlers in the tailgate.....could be wore & cutting your bars. Is the chain running in time on both sides?? I've had them jump a link or two. We run tens of thousands bales through an 855 and the only time we broke bars were where they had dents (stones). Check...
We've been on Cargill's RightNow program for a year and a half......have been looking for some time for a mineral that is palatable and that our cattle will maintain a uniform consumption. They will pig out at first but the secret is to keep it in front of them at all times and not run them out...
Cert; Lock your endgate up and drop the air pressure to slack your chain; usually you can get enough slack to straigten the chain on the drive roller. The tail gate roller is the tough one as you have the bars to contend with but with help you can sometimes get it back in place. Sometimes you...
George; There's a second solenoid on the 2090 just forward of the starter and mounted inside the frame plate. Check to see if you have power at the transmission safety switch (just ahead of the axle and below the cab....it has a wire leading to the frame solenoid). Our old 2090 eats solenoids...
NR---------I believe that was tried years ago up in your country by crossing black bears on Hereford cows....Bearfords!The only problem was in that it was a "terminal cross" as the resulting progeny tended to devour their moms while nursing! ;-) :P
Cull the cow just as soon as you wean the calf. This is just the start of future problems. Definately do not keep ANY progeny for replacements as vaginal prolapse is highly heritable! That's the only reason prolapse is still around as people are too hesitant to cull a "good cow". The alternative...
