40 years licensed/bonded General contractor specializing in concrete for the last 30 years. I'm beat up, tired and old and fat. It's been a struggle deciding to quit, but I've started the process. My wife will be free from all the book work and deadlines. The money has been great lately but it's a game for younger people. I've been "practicing" this month and it's a weird feeling. Cleaning out the shop and selling tools and form panels really makes it real. I know I'm going to miss the structure and my work associates. Even calling for concrete every day, "what's up Scotty, where are we going today?" I won't be too bored with a mile of fence and the farm chores but it's a weird feeling.
I'm gonna have to put a lock on the refrigerator .
