My epidural is later this week, but TODAY I'll find out if Spot and Bubby are bred.

If you pray for bovines, please pray for mine today.

Pray for me, too. I turned in a cull list to Bossman with 13 cows on it. Some are my favorites. I'm afraid I'm gonna cry in front of the day help.

*** edit: I thought I posted this at 5am-ish ***

Hoping they are bred.
We have been going through our cows in preparation to sell several. Just keeping back a few. That few was supposed to be 5-10, but now apparently 12,
The upcoming preg check could change the keep/sell list, but it is hard to put some of them in the sell list. I’ve got one 7 year old cow that is currently on the sell list that will be bumped over to the keep list if any of that list are open. I’m pretty confident that #41’s status will change and she will get to stay around a while longer.

We let 519 stay an extra year. In the year extra she developed a bad bag, well it was going bad but it got real bad. She went a little bit senile. She had a really hard time calving then her on the ground baby died at about a week old and she had no idea what to do with herself without a baby. It was very very very sad to see and today was very very sad to put her on the list and sad to see her go.

I never got emotional about my cows, but maybe ten years after my father passed away I realized that I just had one cow left that I had inherited from him.

I decided that she could die in my pasture, and she did.
