Between work and me 9 months out of the year. Both have falls Sept 1st for 45 days. Work has winters. Embryos start around thanksgiving the rest around Dec 8th for 45days. I have spring calvers also. Starting March 1st.

Heifers calving now. Cows start February 7th for 90 days. I noticed one of the 3 yr olds bagging up this morning and thought WTH. Then realized we're almost there.

First calf was born today. Of course I have to depend on sale yard vets to determine when they will be born. Early is better than late. Talked to 2 neighbors at the post office this morning. They both had a calf or 2 in the last couple days.

Well….the plan after switching to spring calving was to be around march, april, may, but the past couple years I have had some that keep moving up so yeah we just had the first one yesterday.

It’s my fault for keeping the bull in but I always keep track of things and cull late cows but I’m not sure what to consider late now. Lol.

We expected these heifers to start late February. Man I bought them from wasn't to keen on the preg check accuracy so told me to watch them. They started the day after they got here. 9 out o25 in 12 days.

@Silver best I could tell he had about 400 and preg checked them into groups of 50. The calves are consistently weighing about 40 pounds. That probably had allot to do with the dates being off.
