Lot of people missing in East TN right now. Many were lost helping people escape flood waters. Others are just gone.

Many livestock gone. Everything is just gone. Never would thought a hurrocane/tropical storm could hit us so hard. Trees doen all over. Power lines down everywhere. No water to many. Pure insanity.

Morristown got over 12 inches of rain. Some sayong they got 15 to 18 inches since Tuesday

How's my local CT members faring? Anything I can do?

My power has been out since Friday morning and the power company says it will be Wed. Before any hope of power coming back on. The storm got here and just stalled. 50 mph winds with 75 mph gust for 5 hours on top of 8 inches of rain. The ground got soft and our trees just couldn’t handle it, over they went. The damage here is very localized and nothing compared to NC, Tn, and Ga.

I went up to the little store for just a few minutes one day to get some cheetos and when I got back home the power was out.
Therefore, the trip to the store caused the EElectricity to go off. A reasonable deduction..no?

Im still in Port Charlotte FL working the hurricane. Feels like temp is 106.
Its hard on a mountain boy. High of 69 at home today but power is back on.

A relatively minor thing but my sister in law in S Carolina texted to say she got back home from hunting "covered in gator blood and guts" to find she had no power or water. Spent this afternoon throwing food out of her freezer and refrigerator. I'm not sure what part of SC she lives on. Did live near Moncks Corner but I think she moved closer to the coast in 2022 near near her daughter and daughter does have power.

Good news is she bagged a 500lb alligator. Looks to be about 11' long from the pics she sent wife. I think she may have fibbed some on that weight tho.

And no way to refidgerate alligator meat.

After the power went off 5 times at our country place in Oregon in one month, no way to run the freezer or the water system or milk the cow (she's is not a hand milker) my husband got us a generator.

I'm sure she took the gator meat to her daughters. But sis in law is an avid hunter and may have lost some venison from her Utah or Illinois hunts last winter. She wants to hunt South Texas next. Then Canada

I didn't want to say anything till I knew one way or another but I been worried sick about my grown kids and grand kids in N.C. and Eastern Tn. Unicoi County and the area around Johnston City. They chose a different lifestyle than the one I raised them up and we don't keep much in touch.. :( Doesn't mean I don't love or care for them.
Finally got word this morning from a grandaughter that they are all ok and still have homes.

I’m glad they are all ok. Lots of folks still missing in Unicoi and surrounding areas. Heartbreaking to see the aftermath.

You might not want to come home. We got 10.44 inches in 48 hours.

I cant get home from here without adding 200 miles to the trip. I have been told they will keep some of us 30 yo 60 days and possibly up to 90 days

The hay against the guard rail in the flood water and mud is so hard to look at... fences torn down.... and the damage of the water eating up the river bank on another thread.......

I know the money is good, but I sure hope they don't keep you 3 months. Probably within 100 miles of home is where you are most needed. Don't tell them you are 30 yo for god's sake. For what FEMA pays for those trucks you need a hotel to sleep in that truck seat would get old.

Yes truck seat is bad. They brought me a small Firehouse sub for breakfast. I need a coffee pot for the truck.

Doing business like that you need a sleeper and mini kitchen on those trucks. If anything around the home place you need help, I am just a hop skip away. Again, thanks for helping those poor people out as it looks really bad in NC close home.
