Squeeze Chute Floor

Forgive me if this isn't the best place for this question. Somebody feel free to move it if you feel it might get more traffic in another section.

The wood floor under our chute has broken down. What have you guys done to rebuild your chute floor? I've seen diamond plate with square stock or something welded over top of it for footing. What about welding in some plate and screwing some type of durable rubber matting down for some slip resistance?

We run cows and calves through ours and it is out in the elements.

1. Scoop dirt and sand in
Or
2. Go to an ag or food service store and buy a rubber mat and cut to size and remove and wash and dry when not in use

I have just good old concrete under my crush (chute). The way I finish concrete no special non slip surface is needed.

Mine has a diamond tread floor with bars welded across it. I keep sand in the chute, alley, and crowd tub.

Ours started to rot out last year. We welded more metal back over the old one. Local vet got new for most with a heavy crate floor the mess will fall through instead of pooling.
