    Leachman Right Time

And double bred to quite possibly the greatest phenotype cow ever. We have a son out of V910 this year, wide, not real long but has lots of depth. If I was to compare him to a modern bull, I would say Payweight, just not as soggy. I kept half interest on him to use as a cover bull and will be...

    Leachman Right Time

Right Time is going for $200 on sites. JVC Emulation V910 is going for $18 at Origen and you get EXT and the great 6807 cow. You cant go wrong with Right Time, he made some really good cattle, I just think at 10% of the cost V910 is just as good as option.

    GAR Sure Fire daughters

As Tonya stated, seems like with the high dollar female sales that have gone on, He’s been a sire of a lot of the high selling heifers and cows. His phenotype is a better than most GAR bulls I’ve seen except Predestined. Select Sires is pushing him pretty well and I think last year he was in...

    Have you bred to Rainfall?

    Weaning 2019

Is President that inconsistent in frame size? I was thinking of using Rainfall down the road, but I don’t have any desire to give up frame. Do you find he’s reducing certain pedigrees or is it just a crap shoot.

    An Escapade

I appreciate everyone’s comments. 11 years ago I lost my farm and herd to a divorce. I have been incredibly blessed by the Lord to be able to come back 10 years later and start over. For me this cow is nothing but a pot hole in the drive way, I have experienced the lowest of lows, losing my...

    Dairy in beef.

Why? Most beef breeds have enough milk to raise a calf. Are you planning on milking your cows?

    An Escapade

Now its turned into a dog gone challenge. She’s getting bred one way or the other.

    An Escapade

We got one cow that is now going to be a fall calver, if we ever get her bred. Every time she goes through the chute it’s been one escapade after another. Today we ran her to set up a cidr and she broke the welds on the head catch. By the time we get this done our chute is going to be fully...

    Cowboy Up,fixing an udder?

Unfortunately those shenanigans has happened in the breed. Hopefully with dna, it will be a thing of the past.

    Baldridge Colonel

When I was at DVF in June, their top 20 pen had Colonel sons, sounds like Select Sires will be leasing one of them. The guy at DVF told me the Colonel cattle were really hit and miss, more like home runs and strike outs. The reason I would use him is the ability to add the Y69 cow and keep...

    Cowboy Up,fixing an udder?

No wonder this guy doesn’t know who is the dam for Epic, he’s attempting to use Enhance to add depth and rear to cattle, both of which 1682 is known for and something Enhance isn’t.....I’m being snarky. Since you know the breeder can you give us some insight as to who the real dam is for Epic?

    Cowboy Up,fixing an udder?

His numbers scream terminal and everything from his mid section to the tail looks like a disaster. I would cull a young bull if he had that bad of hips and stride. But it’s to the eye of the beholder, a lot of people far smarter than me like him. I have a two step process with bulls, what do...

    Cowboy Up,fixing an udder?

Whenever I see that bull, I think TERMINAL. Enhance is an EPD super star like Peyton, but his phenotype is not what I want.

    Got me some more...

That’s funny, because I can spot 1682 sons no problem, same with Cowboy Up. They just got a different look. At the sales I’ve been to out here in the west, 1682 doesn’t top the sales, but usually has the best average. I’ve never seen any daughters, but there must be a slew of them out there.

If they don’t I’m pretty sure WSU does. But like I wrote earlier, AllWest does put on classes in the NW $500 for a two day course.

    Marbling...how much should you care?

Someone I respect in the business who buys cattle all the time for feed lots, told me a sack of corn does a better job of marbling than any EPD ever has. I do believe GAR has the patent on marbling, most of their buyers are folks selling at the rail, but I wonder how terminal those cattle are...
