We have a mild winter so far, calving season is underway with 57 calves on the ground, no twins yet.

Some news from Dubuc Charolais, even though we have some nights at -20°F and below calving time is going smootly. 46 calves on the ground with 2 pairs of twins. 26 males 20 females. The second calf were backward on the 2 pairs and 1 was upside down on an older cow but most of the other cows...

Cows are out since may 29, lots of grass, a bit dry but nothing serious. Lost 10-15% of corn to frost 2 nights in a row (28-29 may) but we seed only 45 acres. Dubuc Galero a HRJ Maverick son.

It’s calving time at Dubuc Charolais, 24 calves for 24 cows for now, no twins yet. Expecting 2 calves/day until mid February. 2 calves were backwards but was easy pull. Mild temperature and I hope it’s stay like that for a while. 13 males, 11 females.

Cows are out but bred heifers, weaned females and males are in the barns.

Can an homozygous polled bull give scurs to his progeny even though the cow have no gene for scurs? I know that a cow need 2 scurs genes to express scurs on her head and if she have just one gene she didn't show scurs. If a scurs cow can have an homozygous bull calf he will carry at least 1...

Cows didn't know it was sunday, but at calving time it's not relevant, twins females and 3 males.

Just had identical male twins from an embryo carrier. Did someone ever saw that? Around 80lbs and up after half an hour. Charolais purebred.
