Zimbabwe Lowveld

The Zimbabwe lowveld, Afrikaner word for low field, is an area in SE Zimbabwe that is low in elevation. Very difficult climate in their summer which they are having now. It was prized for cattle because of excellent grass. Roger Whittal is known for having established the Nature Conservancy there and reintroduced elephant and both black and white rhino. Craig Boddington has written about his hunts in this area. I have been there with Richard Brebner and met Roger Whittal where I shot an eland on his property. Here are a few pictures. Let's do a what is that game animal in the first picture.

Yes sir. Only one I ever got. I have shot plenty of warthogs and a couple of monsters but my only bush pig. Best shot I ever made in Africa was on this pig. Broke out of a drainage, nailed it on a dead run.
That is a big tree.

That tree appears to be pretty big in diameter but not so much in height.
