Someone left a gallon jug of tea in the break room fridge at work. Swiped a cup for break this morning, wound up being unsweetened. No sugar to be found. For future reference, coffee creamer in tea is not a good idea.

especially when you are expecting it to be sweet.

I tried that once when I was a kid. It don't mix too well, does she?

Had a galfriend from Australia that thought we were nuts.

She couldn't understand why we would boil tea to get it hot, then add ice to make it cold.

Not only that, we put sugar in it to make it sweet, then add lemon to make it sour.

Never did understand........ :secret:

I've been diabetic close to 20 years now, when I first found out I didn't know how I'd make it without sugar because I used more than my share and I loved sweet desserts, I don't care for the fake stuff but do use some, my wife bakes pies without adding sugar (she uses some equal) her pies are really good she even likes them and she can have sugar. sometimes I will eat something sweet just because it looks so good but afterwards it puts a bad taste in my mouth and I wish I didn't, once you are used to being without sugar it tastes bad just like something does without sugar when you're used to sugar. As long as you can have sugar , go for it ,I know I would

Seems like this would fall into the "well dahh" catefory

Forgot to mention it was the powdered creamer. And no, Lammie, it doesn't mix well. After I fished out all the little cream turds it still had this murky look to it.

I am addicted to that powdered crud in my coffee - but it will not dissolve in cold liquid that is for sure.

One time it was all I could find to use after already starting to mix up a batch of cornbread - no milk of any kind in the house - came out really good!

Yes, coffee creamer tends to clump when added to a cold beverage! ;-)

Wife is an Indiana native, I'm from Kentucky. Many places up here don't even serve sweet tea. We were on a trip several years ago in Tennessee and stopped to eat. She asked the waitress if they had sweet tea. I told her she was in Tennessee. You don't have to ask that here.

On the brighter side, sweet tea seems to be spreading. Made it all the way to central Texas already. Maybe before long it'll show up way up north. :)

Come on - give us some credit... When something is good, it doesn't take long. We've had, what y'all call sweet tea, we call iced tea for as long as I can remember.

There are basically two problems with this thread:

1) We have now discovered that cf is a thief. The tea in question was NOT his to take "I swiped a cup..." At least he admitted it.

2) Mike says that he "had a galfriend from Australia" - anyone else see the problem with this? There is no way some girl is traveling all the way from Australia just for Mike - heck, I hear he STILL has to wear a pork chop necklace to get the dogs near him! A lot of us kids were that ugly but we grew up right nice!

She was exiled from Australia for being a criminal.

A nice, pretty, petite little criminal though. :P

When its over 100 degrees, It doesn't matter how she looks, so long as she knows how to make a good glass of tea. She could be 10 1/2 inches between the eyes and it wouldn't matter much.

Caught me red-handed. The tea was left over from some meeting of the big shots, incidentally there were quite a few yankees present, hence the unsweetened tea. No wonder those folks are so crotchety. If I had to drink that crap all the time I'd be in a tiff too!

Ouch! :(

I drink my tea hot, with sugar (if at all, only when sick like a dog). I'm not so crotchety ~ really.
