Got the sale barn results from last week in their mailout flyer..

WOW, especially on butcher bulls.

145-168 /cwt!!! 2400 lb Char bull was 1.67 for $4032, and there were lots of 2100-2200 lb'ers going for that as well.

Cows were going for about 125-150 /cwt


5wt steers were averaging over $3, and highs were about $3.50.. I'm thinking I should just load up the 2 steers I have and the little heifer and smile all the way to the bank.
 
Makes me feel really good about having bought my long yearling a year ago for $3500.. he's probably worth that in meat now, and still has life left in him.

I'm guessing some of those "butcher" bulls were bought for breeding still.. there was that 2400 lb that went for 1.67, he was PB limo from a reputable (or at least one that's always in the spotlight) breeder (Pinnacle view limousin)... It may be worth the gamble to go buy a genetically really good bull there and perhaps get some calves out of him
