They are 800-1100lbs weight. Pretty happy about their meatness, but would like more size.

Have weighed girls a couple days ago. One heifer has been brought to the cows herd with a bull already. She's 18 months old 1200lbs weight.
This summer we've improved our feeding system abit: started feeding twice a day, added some maize/sugar beet pulp meal and some rape seed meal. Bulls had better weight gains, but heifers have increased even more. The best weight gain from heifers now is 4.63lbs, three out of 15 have WG higher than 4.41lbs, almost all except one have higher than 2.2lbs( that one has an injured leg, so she is not in the best condition now), the avarage weight gain of girls is 3.37lbs. Pretty happy about that.
Heifers, which we'll leave as replacements, should be bred in February-March, so if they'll keep their growth they should make pretty big cows.

Sold two heifers to the slaughter house. Both were sired by the same Limo bull. One was out of Charx dairy cow. She was 21mo, liveweight 1212lbs, deadweight 700lbs. She's in the 2nd photo, the creamy one.
Another heifer was out of BBxdairy cow, 17mo, 1036lbs liveweight, 617lbs deadweight. She's solid red with horns in the 8th photo. We might have left her as replacement, because of her character, her dam is easy calver, however that cow's daughters have calves weighing way over 100lbs at birth, one was 160lbs, another 140lbs. Decided that don't want another calf-surprise. Her dam was culled recently at 10years age, due to bad rear legs. In the past two weeks she started being separate from the herd and she had it hard to walk.

Some photos of heifers preparing for the winter. One heifer has already been bred and expect her calf in late spring. Other, which will be left as replacements, will be weighed after two weeks and the ones which will be over 1200lbs will go to the cows herd with the bull. Heifers are 16-19months old.

An update of the young girls.
So, one heifer has aborted. She has very nice udder and would have raised a top calf. Hopefully next year will be better for her.

Other heifers are getting ready to start calving soon. The first one due on 26th of August. One saw inheat only in spring, so she hopefully will calve in winter. Two saw inheat in June. Those two are the smallest heifers, so it will be just better to give some extra time for them to grow, however, really hope they both will get incalf.

Today have officially started autumn calving with the first heifer. Not the one we expected. That one is still waiting.
Today has calved 29 months old 3/4Limo,1/4dairy heifer with Limox bull calf. Calved quickly without assistance and the young mom is doing her job well.

Thanks. Calf is not more than 77lbs. For heifer, which is around 1300lbs, it was an easy calving. Calf has quite wide body, but not much of meat. Should be a nice one in a couple months.
Heifer's dam is 14 years old and will be culled this year. It's nice to have daughter replacing her now.

Another heifer has calved this morning.28 months old. At 288days gestation. Calved herself. Heifer is LimoxBBxdairy. Calf- heifer is sired by purebred Limousine bull. Very skinny on the rear, but pretty wide body.

Thank you. She's my own heifer, not parents and the second cow for me. Very excited. Finally will be able to have something for meat factory next year and have some money for studying. My first cow had twin heifers this year, heifer last year too.
