Neighbor is loaning me a 16-mo. old registered hereford bull for my black and red brangus cows. I think he is the only human this bull has ever seen, and the bull has never been around anything but herefords. He was skittish; we opened the trailer, and he jumped out then ran to the fence. My black cows, who have not been near a bull in 9 months, ran over to check him out. "Hey, it's a MAN!". It scared him so much he took off running into the pasture with all my cows chasing him. It was hilarious. Neighbor and I went out later to see about him, and he was finally checking out the ladies. Today, while I was there, he checked out the rear of one of my daughter's horses. I thought the filly would kick him in the nose but didn't react other than turning her head and looking at him with a look like "what do you think you're doing?". Great, a young, gentle bull who also provides comedy relief. :cboy:
