I'm looking to purchase a good young Angus bull. I normally buy from JBar Angus in Halletsville but they are sold out. Any suggestions in the Dewitt county area?
I noticed that your breeder is having a sale on December 6 (used to be the Lone Star Angus Alliance). If you can hold off until then, you can turn bull out and get fall born calves, A cow bred today would calve around July 20 (not an optimum time). I personally like October - December born calves and wean them in late June or right after the 4th of July. I pull my bull to try not to calve anything after tax day (April 15). Really despise summer calves they do not grow off in our heat.I'm looking to purchase a good young Angus bull. I normally buy from JBar Angus in Halletsville but they are sold out. Where are you located? If in Halletsville, Texas, you might check out Rutherford in Fairfield, Texas (about 3 hours or so east of Dewitt)…never dealt with them but they have an excellent reputation and a large selection… Atacosa Farms here in Nacogdoches has some nice angus bulls from time to time…that's where we got our current bull but he is brangus…I think they are dealing primarily in angus now, though. Nice folks - they'll be the first place I look when this one needs to be replaced…they are located about 2 miles from my house in Nacogdoches which is further away and probably not as large a selection as Rutherford.I'm looking to purchase a good young Angus bull. Wait until their sale Dec 6 or put the pressure on Mark to part with one now. Tell him a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.I'm looking to purchase a good young Angus bull. I normally buy from JBar Angus in Halletsville but they are sold out. Any suggestions in the Dewitt county area?

In all seriousness, if you are in DeWitt Co wait it out for theirs. We have spent a lot of money hunting down bulls that didn't work out in our area. There are a pile of Angus bulls around Luling, Seguin, Gonzales and all through there. You can look up the Luling Foundation, Bodey Langford, and all that crew. Although I really like Mr Langford and he is great to deal with, they push a lot of feed are are chasing the latest and greatest unproven genetics, imo. JBar sticks with proven animals and eases in after watching for a while.
We have a place in DeWitt Co near the sprawling metropolis of Nordheim, TX.
They currently have some angus/brangus cross cattle for sale…I assume they have some angus…according to their Facebook page, they have some Brafords as well.Does Rutherford Ranches still have Angus cows?
