you know its dry when ???????

Very dry her. I have not saturated the ground around my ground rods but I suspect it needs it. Kentucky experienced the hottest September on record. In fact, it blew away the previous record from like 1906.

This heat sucks bad and Im feeding hay

… you're feeding this AM and the plank board your standing on in a split second pulls all the nails and sends you heels over head gymantists crazy flip over top board just as you dump bucket to yearling heifers. luckily, somehow grabbedtop plank with right hand to keep damage to myself to a minimum, still swung legs down on the metal feeder pretty hard. Must have looked pretty bad because 8 yr old daughters jaw was on the ground for the next 15 minutes. probably really going to feel it tomorrow AM getting out of bed.

I had just put a few boards back up on Tuesday, first thought was the dry air of course and drought. Found lots of loose boards and nails. Started putting screws in and tapping nails back this PM. Dust everywhere

you know it's dry

when there's cracks in the ground,
and even the chiggers,
are not to be found.

green is no where to see,
cactus or water leaks,
only place it will be.

forget planting seeds,
the ground is hard,
and wilting are the weeds,

and for this ole dusty plain,
maybe once more we will have,
another good soaking rain.

And where might that be?

Profile page....location.....check

Claiborne & Hancock county TN

I'm in the county next door in VA. It is the same way here. I'm in central VA working and it's even worse here. They have had 15" less rain for the year than I have.

ClodHopper - they were asking you to go to your Profile Page and put your location, so we don't have to try to remember where you live. It will show up on the right under your name. It really, really helps if everyone would list their location.
