You guys injecting calves too?

We will use Ivomec plus injectable this year before we turn our cows out to pasture. My question is, are you guys injecting your calves too or just the cows?

I give my calves 5cc when I work the cows. Most of the calves are 4-5 mts old at that time.

when i round up the herd and work them, anything with a little size gets wormed... i would say anything a month or so or older would get it..
maybe some others will add to this thread to help you decide what to do..

We use Ivomec pour on twice a year for cows and calves get the same at weaning.

We generally alternate pour-on and injectable wormer Spring and Fall. We use either on the calves when they come through as well.

I think the Ivomec says not under 2 months, but I am not paid for my thinking!

Worms, lice, other parasties ca nbe just as devastating on young calves as it can be on older cattle if not more so in many ways. We always worm after two or so months. :cboy:

I use Ivomec + when the calves are weaned and we have alot of rain. If it is dry we don't use much. I find Ivomec to be expensive if conditions don't warrant it.
