Wife woke up at 3 am to coyotes just below the house and a cow balling, which in turn woke me up. Checked everything out with the spotlight and couldn't find anything. Soon as I laid back down they started up again. So I went cruising outside in the snow in my hunting boots and underwear (2 feet of snow here). Seen two yotes fighting about 250 yards from the house, one was black but I was afraid it was the neighbor's dog.

Last time that mutt wakes me up.

Anyone hunt em for sport? I could use some tips. Only ones I ever get are the dumb ones that stand in the fields until I get steady enough to shoot them.

One shot(?), one kill. That's the way to do it.

One shot, but I wasn't sure I hit him til we rode down there. All I could make out in the scope was a grey yote and a black canine going around in circles nipping at each other's necks. Wife has seen a black yote here but our neighbor has a black dog, he said his dog was up that night, though. I found some tracks in the snow today where another one came down to the pond below our house last night, 25 yards from where I shot that one.
